Birthday Flowers

Morning.  Sorry I have been missing for the last week.  I was on holidays but caught a nasty virus and lost my mojo along the way.  So finally, had the ambition to stamp and make a card when I saw this challenge at Splitcoast; colouring.  One of my favourite things to do with my stamps is to colour directly onto them instead of inking with an ink pad.
I began my card by colouring the flowers from Rubbernecker with Memento markers, sprayed with water to help blend the colours and then stamped twice on separate sheets of cardstock.  When dry, I cut one of the images with my square Spellbinders die and layered it with pop dots over the other one.  I inked the Papertrey Ink sentiment with Memento black and stamped under the flowers.

Birthday Girl

Happy Sunday and welcome.  Sometimes colour combinations can be difficult and finding a palette or photo can spark our creativity.  If you have never been to the DESIGN SEED site before go check it out.  That is where the inspiration for this card began as I saw this combination of colour.

*brushstrokes* | fresh hues

Bokeh backgrounds are all the rage right now and I saw a video on UTube that showed how to create an easy bokeh background so I was in.  I began by watercolouring my beachy feeling background on a piece of watercolour paper.  I just used my Distress inks to paint with.  Just using an acrylic block, I rubbed the pads directly onto it then added water and started to paint.
When that was dry, I used a circle stencil with various sized circles that I had cut from a piece of acetate and randomly sponged on white Color Box pigment ink over that.  The smallest circles were made using the eraser end of a pencil.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from WPlus 9 and added my sequins to finish off my card.

Also adding my card to these challenges:

Precious Moments

'The World is Your Oyster'  That was the quote we were to be inspired by today at Splitcoast
To me it meant...go out, explore the world and all it has to offer but, along the way don't forget to cherish and capture every special moment in your memory.  This sentiment spoke to me.
I began my card by embossing the sentiment with white then watercolouring the three panels of colour using Distress inks over that.  I splattered some white paint on as well, then mounted it onto a piece of black cardstock.
For the background, I grabbed a variety of different stamps and using the same colours, stamped and splattered away.  I then mounted the sentiment panel over that using pop dots.

Sunny Goodness

Good Morning.  Sending you some sunny goodness today with my big sunflowers and the challenge at Splitcoast called 'glazed over'.  Such a happy card.
I began by stamping my sunflowers from Penny Black called Sunshine and coloured them with Copic markers.  I cut them out and edged them with a black Memento marker so you wouldn't see the white edges of my flowers.  I them added a generous amount of Glossy Accents to the centers to make my flowers pop.  It looks like the sun is shining on them IRL.
For the background, I did a reverse stencil inking by applying Distress inks to the back of my stencil, spraying with water and pressed my paper into the wet ink.  It made for such a sunny and bright backdrop for my sunflowers.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Friendship Flowers set.

Great Friend

Hello.  Give me some stamps, paper and Distress inks and I am having fun.  This card started with this fun sentiment from Technique Tuesday.  I wanted a way to highlight it over a background.
This is the process I used.
I stamped the sentiment in black Memento ink and embossed it with clear powder.  Next, I inked up the background stamp with Versamark ink then rubbed off some of the ink in the center area where the sentiment was placed.  I stamped and embossed with white embossing powder.  I painted over that with watered down Distress inks and splattered with white paint.   When that was all dry, I coloured the camera with Copic markers and added it with pop dots.

Seeing Orange

Hello and welcome.  Meet today's card.  Just a bit of fun that made me smile since I have been feeling under the weather the last few days.
My inspiration for this card was a canister set from Vintage Atmosphere, as I was playing along with the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast

vintage orange canister set, round orange canisters, orange and brown decor

I cut three different sized circles from a piece of acetate to use as my stencil.  Next, I sponged on 3 different shades of Distress inks ( Ripe Persimmon/ Spiced Marmalade/ Dried Marigold) randomly over my card front.  I added the white dashed lines for interest using a white Signo Pen and lastly the sentiment and the sequins.

Happy Smiles

Good Morning.  I am sending all of you a 'BE HAPPY' message today.  I think the shades of sunny yellow and gold make for a happy card.  I am playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast; use stripes on your card.  I thought this cute little guy with his striped belly worked great for that.
The background was my starting point.  It was a scrap of cardstock that I used when I cleaned off my stencil.  I hate to waste the ink and often I am left with interesting inky designs that I can use for future backgrounds.  I did add some white paint splatters as well.
This cute little guy is a freebie on the Paper Smooches site.  I printed it off, cut him out and coloured with Copic markers.  I added the sentiment then pop dotted the bee over that.

STAMPlorations Guest Designer

Good Morning.  Today, I am the Guest Designer at STAMPlorations.  The challenge for August is
STAMPS and DIE CUTS
I started creating my card by working on the background.  I inked up the front of a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop with blue Distress inks.  I sprayed the stencil with water, then placed my paper over that.  It is like doing a reverse stencil technique.
When my background was dry, I stamped the SUBWAY ART BUILDERS:Create down the side of my card using black Memento ink and added the die-cut leaf.
I hope you can play along with the challenge.  You could win a new stamp.

Everyday

Hello and Welcome.  As most of you already know, I love blue.  It seems to be my go-to colour when playing with inks and stamps.  I wanted to play along with the challenge at Splitcoast so I grabbed my stamps and ink and started creating.
I began by stamping my background using a stamp from Impression Obsession.  It is part of their 'Cover a Card' series of stamps.  I inked it with various shades of Distress inks in blues, sprayed with water and stamped.  I love the impression that was left behind.
When that was dry, I stamped the flowers from Magenta and Unity with black Memento ink then added the sentiment from Penny Black.

Dream Valley- FAVOURITE COLOURS

Cherish

Morning.  I am having so much fun stamping with my new stamp set from Altenew that I wanted to make another card...something sunny, summery.  This is what I came up with.
The hexagon background is a stamp from Hero Arts.  Love the graphic hexagons.  I inked it up with Distress inks (Mustard Seed, Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, Spiced Marmalade), sprayed with water and stamped.  I was left with a great blend of the colours.
I wanted to highlight the sentiment, so I cut the bkg. piece and mounted it on either side of the sentiment.  The roses were stamped with the same orange shades of Distress inks and cut out then mounted with pop dots.

I am also including my card in these challenges:

Seize the Birthday- SEEING YELLOW

Simon Says- ANYTHING GOES

Crafting When We Can- BRIGHT COLOURS

Fusion- BEACH HOUSE

Beautiful Life

It's time for another Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast so I am ready to get stamping.  Today, we are being inspired by a wonderful Pinterest board by Esta Home Decor with the Shabby, Chic and Romantic theme.  Here is the photo that inspired me:

I began by using one of my all-time favourite stamps.  It is from Innovative Stamp Creations.  The hollyhocks are so easy to colour for a watercolour effect.  So, I coloured them with Memento markers, sprayed with water then stamped onto my cardstock.  I then inked up my non-stick craft sheet with shades of pinks and red Distress inks, sprayed with water and dragged my paper through the wet ink.  When that was dry, I die-cut the flowers using my Impression Obsession holllyhock die and glued them onto my stamped flowers.  I added some pearls to the flower centers to reflect the elegance and the theme of the Pinterest board theme.

Create Outside the Lines

Happy Friday.  One step closer to a long weekend for us here in Ontario, Canada.  Today, I am creating a simple 2 layer card and playing along with the challenge at Splitcoast
I began my card by stamping the outline of the roses with black Memento ink.  I then stamped the petals with shades of red Distress inks.  This stamp set from Altenew is a three-step set which is wonderful for creating so many different looks for the flowers and great for watercolouring as well.
I masked the white portion of my card and splattered red ink over the roses to add depth.  When that was dry, I stamped the sentiment from STAMPlorations....I love the sayings especially the one that says 'paint outside the lines' which works perfectly with this stamp set.

I am adding my card to these challenges:

Addicted to Stamps- ANYTHING GOES

Paper Pretties- RED/GREEN
